Important Update: Plug-In NB Rebate Program Ending July 1, 2025

The Plug-In NB rebate program, funded by the Province of New Brunswick and managed by NB Power, will end on July 1, 2025. Rebate amounts will remain the same until the program ends. Vehicles purchased after June 30, 2025, will NOT qualify for the rebate. Home charger rebates will also end on July 1, 2025, for those purchasing a qualifying EV.

Residents or organizations that receive a vehicle rebate through the Plug-In NB Rebate Program are eligible to claim 50% of the cost before taxes and fees to purchase and install one new level 2 EV charger, up to a maximum of $750.

To be considered for this program and be on the list of eligible charging stations, the station must:

  1. New (Must be purchased as new. Second-hand or leased chargers are not eligible.)
  2. Smart-enabled (Capable of connecting to a network for remote access, data monitoring, or software updates.)
  3. Residential or Commercial
  4. Approved by an accredited Canadian certification body for use in Canada (e.g., cUL, ULC, cETL, CSA, cQPS, or equivalent)
  5. Level 2 (208 – 240V)
  6. Installed by a licensed electrician
  7. Purchased from a Canadian distributor or Canadian website

The number of charging station incentives are limited to the number of EV incentives received by a resident or organization in a 12-month period.

The EV VIN is required to claim the incentive. The name on the invoice must match the name on the EV registration(s) and must be from a Canadian supplier.

The Plug-In NB Rebate Program does not endorse any particular manufacturer or brand. We recommend individuals do their own research to ensure the charger meets their needs. This list is not exhaustive. If you do not see a particular charger on this list and it meets the above criteria, please contact us for a review.
