- You can apply or renew your licence by visiting the Government of New Brunswick’s website.
- All NEW electrical licenses for Construction Electricians, Industrial Electricians, Electrical Contractors, Sign Installers, Sign Installer Helpers or Sign Contractors will be processed by Technical Inspection Services at 1-888-659-3222. Renewals can be done online at www.snb.ca.
- If a utility is required and the client is an NB Power customer, a work order is required in order to process your application.
- The customer you are providing service to should have the work order.
- If they have not yet made the request, please ask them to contact us by calling 1 800 663-6272.

The Electrical Wiring Permit is the only type of permit that will be processed by NB Power.

Obtaining a building permit is a requirement of the Community and planning Act.
The building permit or waiver can be provided by:
- upload the building permit or waiver directly when completing the online form

To obtain a building permit or waiver, contact your local Regional Service Commission.
Copies of the electrical wiring permit will be sent to you by email.

You will be responsible to contact Technical Inspection Services with the New Brunswick Department of Public Safety to coordinate a final inspection. You can call in the inspections at 1-888-659-3222, Monday to Friday from 8:15 a.m. to -4:30 p.m. Please have the wiring permit number on hand for reference.
Yes, once the form is submitted and the confirmation panel is showing, you can print a copy of the application form for your records. You will see a print button at the bottom of the confirmation panel and you will have an option to print to a PDF, printer, etc.
- You will have an option to upload the Building Waiver/Building Permit online when completing the application form.
- Before submitting the online form, you will click on the browse button in the building/Waiver permit section
- Once you hit the browse button a file explorer popup will appear where you can choose the file you want to upload.
