NB Power rates to increase by 1.8%

2021-03-25

Fredericton, N.B. – NB Power’s rates will increase by 1.8% effective March 31, 2021.

This rate change was approved by the Energy and Utilities Board (EUB) last fall and would normally have taken place earlier in the fiscal year. To support New Brunswickers experiencing hardships related to the COVID-19 pandemic, NB Power asked the EUB to allow a delay in the increase to the last possible date of the current fiscal year.

NB Power is committed to delivering low cost, clean energy and investing in sustainable energy for future generations. Revenue from the rate increase will allow NB Power to invest in reliability, including the safe, reliable and efficient operation of the provincial electricity system. It also supports continued grid modernization investments which will benefit all New Brunswickers.

The updated rate details will be posted on nbpower.com on March 31, 2021.
