NB Power expands support for non-profits and rental housing with new rebate program

2026-07-07

Fredericton NB - Fredericton NB - NB Power announced today the launch of the Rental Owner’s Rebate Program. The Program, delivered by NB Power through SaveEnergyNB, provides financial incentives to help residential rental property owners complete energy-efficient upgrades in residential rental dwellings across New Brunswick. This program is open to businesses, individuals, non-profit organizations and government agencies.

The program offers set and percentage-to-cost incentive amounts for multi-unit residential building envelopes, shared spaces and individual dwelling units available to tenants and residents.

“The Rental Owner’s Rebate Program is unique in the way it benefits both rental owners and tenants,” said Lori Clark, President and CEO. “Property owners can benefit from the rebates and the increased marketability of their space that come with energy-efficient upgrades, while tenants can benefit from greater comfort and lower monthly power bills.”

Non-profit organizations that participate in the program are eligible for higher incentives than private owners and corporations, supporting groups that help provide New Brunswickers with affordable and sustainable lifestyles.

“The Rental Owner’s Rebate Program shares the goals of non-profit housing organizations working to provide New Brunswickers with low-cost of living and improved quality of life,” said Director of Energy Efficiency Services, Cindy Morris.

The Rental Owner’s Rebate Program supports NB Power on their transition to clean energy while helping to build stronger, more energy-secure communities across New Brunswick.
