Saint John Corridor Project

Project Background:

NB Power is moving quickly to make the electricity system better. This means using more clean energy, mitigating the impacts of climate change, and making things easier and better for people in New Brunswick when it comes to electricity. We are committed to making the necessary investments now to ensure reliability of our electricity system in the future. We will also need to build our capacity to generate electricity in province so that we can ensure New Brunswickers have the power they need when they need it.

With this priority and the growing demand for electricity in the southern New Brunswick area there is a requirement for new transmission capacity.

The Saint John Corridor Project consists of a new 32-kilometre transmission line between the Coleson Cove terminal and existing transmission lines near the Glen Falls area of Saint John, and a 5-kilometre radial transmission line between the South Bay area and the west side of Saint John near Reversing Falls.

Project Benefits:

This additional line will accelerate grid modernization efforts, improve reliability and would allow NB Power to continue advancements towards the clean energy roadmap.
