Business need: Lighting upgrades – increase lighting at sites as most were poorly lit in and around equipment yards.

Lighting Solution: Lighting upgrades completed at over 100 individual Department of Transportation and Infrastructure sites throughout New Brunswick.

PABINEAU FIRST NATION

Community Need: Areas of the community were under lit. Areas like community gathering spots and one particularly dangerous intersection needed lighting improvements.

Lighting Solution: NB Power’s lighting layout plan identified five key areas to add lighting. Improving lighting in these areas helped to increase community members’ safety and security.

“Most of the lighting additions at Pabineau First Nation were to prevent and deter mischief. Thanks to improved lighting, and our security team’s work, we’re proud to say that crime has been reduced by 10%.

The new lighting has also improved other areas of the community. The outdoor classroom at our daycare and the field behind our health centre, for example. We hold cultural events like our sacred fires and sweat lodges in the field. Now, it is well-lit; our community members can go and feel safe and secure. ”

Business need: Increased lighting for better security to protect inventory and vehicles in their parking lot and fenced in yard.

Lighting Solution: Two 400W LED floodlights and three 250W LED floodlights.
